Choosing the Right Art
Choosing the right art for your space can be challenging. Art is subjective; therefore it can be difficult to select art that everyone will like. You can however create a design that includes selections which resonate with all of your staff and public. Our interactive web site and free design services ensure this is a smooth and rewarding process.

Here are a few tips to assist you in selecting art for your facility:
- The number one question we ask when we are designing art is "What type of art do you like?" Art is personal. Whether it is abstract, landscape, photography, traditional or contemporary, the art needs to speak to the people working in and using the facility. Narrowing down what you like and do not like will help you to focus in on the right collection.
- What is your basic color and style theme? While you do not need to match the art to your colors, the art should pull your colors and styles together as a finishing touch.
- It is helpful to have a floor plan or some sort of layout so that you can determine where you need art and what size art will work best. In long hallways, you do not need to put art on every wall, but can space it on every other wall or on alternate sides of the hallway.
- Choose art that best enhances the functionality of the intended space. In lobbies or reception, you are often mixing branding art with local art. In conference rooms, the art often needs to make a statement. In hallways, the art can help breathe life into an often institutionalized look. You are using the art to communicate vision, inspire ideas, improve health and lift moods.
- Set up your project by spaces, i.e. reception, corridors, conference rooms, etc. As you find an image you like, see which area it fits best in and save it in that area. Do not worry about mats and frames in this step, just select images.
- Use "Find Similar Art" to locate pieces that complement each other.
- Once you have more than enough pieces in your project, open up each area and see which pieces best work together for design and layout.
